DESCRIPCIÓN Y/O SINOPSIS DE ESTE EBOOK

WHAT VALUABLE COMPANY IS NOBODY BUILDING?

The next Bill Gates will not build an operating system. The next Larry Page or Sergey Brin won’t make a search engine. If you are copying these guys, you aren’t learning from them. It’s easier to copy a model than to make something new: doing what we already know how to do takes the world from 1 to n, adding more of something familiar. Every new creation goes from 0 to 1. This book is about how to get there.

‘Peter Thiel has built multiple breakthrough companies, and Zero to One shows how.’
ELON MUSK, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla

‘This book delivers completely new and refreshing ideas on how to create value in the world.’
MARK ZUCKERBERG, CEO of Facebook.

‘When a risk taker writes a book, read it. In the case of Peter Thiel, read it twice. Or, to be safe, three times. This is a classic.’
NASSIM NICHOLAS TALEB, author of The Black Swan

OPINIONES:

One of the most important business books I’ve ever read, and I’ve read hundreds
For almost a decade I hosted a radio program in which I interviewed business leaders and authors of business and leadership books on a daily basis. I read hundreds of them. Peter Thiel’s new book belongs among the very best. It defies the genre, as much a big ideas book as a. how to book. It effortlessly moves from using the tools of economics, management, technology, science, philosophy and history. I’ve never seen a better discussion about strategy. This would pair up quite nicely with Rich Karlgaard’s new book The Soft Edge, with George Glider’s Knowledge and Power or with Edmund Phelps’s Mass Flourishing.
Since reading Thiel’s book, I’ve found that it has material changing the way I think about my own business and business in general. If you’re an entrepreneur, close to an entrepreneur or thinking about becoming an entrepreneur, this book belongs on your shelf and in your mind.

Changed the way I think about building value in businesses
Changed the way I think about building value in businesses. Clear, poignant, and to the point, Thiel’s book challenges every would-be entrepreneur to think differently about commonly held notions of what it means to build a business.

I had bigger hopes
The book starts out well enough, and I appreciate the fresh point of view that the authors bring to the topic. It is clear they have a distinct point of view. There are some good examples, but I found the interest level dropping the further into the book I got. There are, however, some very good points in the front half, particularly about optimism and determinism.
